Green Tea Banana Soft Serve

Nutrition Corner: Matcha
Matcha is a green tea powder grown and made in Japan. It is a rich source of chlorophyll, evidenced by its brilliant green color. Matcha green tea contains a higher level of antioxidants than other green teas, and is uniquely suited to balance its caffeine content with the promotion of feelings of calmness, due to the presence of the amino acid L- Theanine. Unlike most tea that is brewed and strained, this powder is consumed in its whole form, making it available as an ingredient in baking and other recipes.


  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey


  1. Remove bananas from the freezer and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Add bananas, honey, and matcha to a mini food processor and blend. Scrape down the sides of the processor as needed.

Chef’s Tip: This recipe works best in a mini food processor. If you do not have one, you may be able to make this in a blender or Magic/Nutri Bullet by combining the ingredients with just enough coconut or almond milk to facilitate blending.
